আল-মুজাদিলা: 4

And he who does not find [a slave] - then a fast for two months consecutively before they touch one another; and he who is unable - then the feeding of sixty poor persons. That is for you to believe [completely] in Allāh and His Messenger; and those are the limits [set by] Allāh. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.

And he who finds not (the money for freeing a slave) must fast two successive months before they both touch each other. And for him who is unable to do so, he should feed sixty of Miskin (poor). That is in order that you may have perfect Faith in Allah and His Messenger. These are the limits set by Allah. And for disbelievers, there is a painful torment.

But whoever does not find (a slave) has to fast for two consecutive months before the two (spouses) touch one another. Then the one who is not able to do so has to feed sixty indigent persons. This is (laid down) so that you believe in Allah and His Messenger. These are the limits set by Allah; and for the disbelievers there is a painful punishment.

And he who does not find a slave (to free), shall fast for two months consecutively before they may touch each other; and he who is unable to do so shall feed sixty needy people. All this is in order that you may truly believe in Allah and His Messenger. These are the bounds set by Allah; and a grievous chastisement awaits the unbelievers.

And he who findeth not (the wherewithal), let him fast for two successive months before they touch one another; and for him who is unable to do so (the penance is) the feeding of sixty needy ones. This, that ye may put trust in Allah and His messenger. Such are the limits (imposed by Allah); and for disbelievers is a painful doom.

And if any has not (the wherewithal), he should fast for two months consecutively before they touch each other. But if any is unable to do so, he should feed sixty indigent ones, this, that ye may show your faith in Allah and His Messenger. Those are limits (set by) Allah. For those who reject (Him), there is a grievous Penalty.

কিন্তু যার (দাস সংগ্রহ করার) সামর্থ্য নেই, সে এক নাগাড়ে দু’মাস রোযা রাখবে পরস্পরকে স্পর্শ করার পূর্বে। আর যে তা করতে পারবে না, সে ষাট জন মিসকীনকে খাবার খাওয়াবে। এ নির্দেশ দেয়া হচ্ছে এ জন্য যাতে তোমরা আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রসূলের প্রতি ঈমান আনো। এগুলো আল্লাহর নির্ধারিত সীমা। (যারা এটা অস্বীকার করবে সেই) কাফিরদের জন্য আছে মর্মান্তিক শাস্তি।

কিন্তু যে তা পাবে না, সে লাগাতার দু’মাস সিয়াম পালন করবে, একে অপরকে স্পর্শ করার পূর্বে। আর যে (এরূপ করার) সামর্থ্য রাখে না সে ষাটজন মিসকীনকে খাবার খাওয়াবে। এ বিধান এ জন্য যে, তোমরা যাতে আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রাসূলের প্রতি ঈমান আন। আর এগুলো আল্লাহর (নির্ধারিত) সীমা এবং কাফিরদের জন্য রয়েছে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক আযাব।

কিন্তু যার এ সামর্থ্য নেই, একে অপরকে স্পর্শ করার পূর্বে তাকে একাদিক্রমে দুই মাস সিয়াম পালন করতে হবে। যে তাতেও অসমর্থ হবে সে ষাটজন অভাবগ্রস্তকে খাওয়াবে; এটা এ জন্য যে, তোমরা যেন আল্লাহ ও তাঁর রাসূলের উপর বিশ্বাস স্থাপন কর। এগুলি আল্লাহর নির্ধারিত বিধান, কাফিরদের জন্য রয়েছে বেদনাদায়ক শাস্তি।

কিন্তু যার এ সামর্থ্য থাকবে না, একে অন্যকে স্পর্শ করার আগে তাকে একাদিক্রমে দু’মাস সিয়াম পালন করতে হবে; যে তাতেও অসমর্থ, সে ষাটজন মিসকীনকে খাওয়াবে; এটা এ জন্যে যে, তোমরা যেন আল্লাহ্‌ ও তাঁর রাসূলের উপর ঈমান আন। আর এগুলো আল্লাহ্‌র নির্ধারিত বিধান; আর কাফিরদের জন্য রয়েছে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি।

তবে যার এ সামর্থ্য নেই, সে একে অপরকে স্পর্শ করার পূর্বে ধারাবাহিকভাবে দু’মাস রোযা রাখবে। আর যে ব্যক্তি এতেও অসমর্থ, সে ষাটজন মিসকীনকে খাওয়াবে। এ নির্দেশ এজন্য যে, তোমরা যেন ঈমান আনয়ন কর আল্লাহর প্রতি ও তাঁর রাসূলের প্রতি। আর এগুলো আল্লাহর নির্ধারিত সীমারেখা। আর কাফিরদের জন্য রয়েছে যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি।

৪. তোমাদের মধ্যে যে ব্যক্তি স্বাধীন করার জন্য দাস না পায় সে যেন জেহারকৃত স্ত্রীর সাথে মিলনের পূর্বে একটানা দু’মাস রোযা রাখে। আর তাতে অপারগ হলে সে যেন ষাটজন মিসকীনকে খাবার খাওয়ায়। এ বিধান এ জন্য যে, যাতে করে তোমরা বিশ্বাস করতে পারো যে, আল্লাহ এ ব্যাপারে নির্দেশ প্রদান করেছেন। ফলে তাঁর নির্দেশ মান্য করতে পারো। তোমাদের উদ্দেশ্যে বিধিবদ্ধ এ বিধান হলো আল্লাহর বান্দাদের উদ্দেশ্যে তাঁর নির্ধারিত সীমানা। ফলে তোমরা তা অতিক্রম করো না। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহর বিধান ও তাঁর সীমানাসমূহকে অস্বীকাকারীদের জন্য রয়েছে কষ্টদায়ক শাস্তি।
