আল-আহকাফ: 18

Those are the ones upon whom the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.

They are those against whom the Word (of torment) is justified among the previous generations of jinns and mankind that have passed away. Verily! They are ever the losers.

Such are the people on whom the word (of punishment) has come true along with the communities of the Jinn and the humans that have passed before them. Surely they were losers.

It is against such that Allah's sentence (of punishment) has become due. They will join the communities of humans and jinn that have preceded them. Verily all of them will court utter loss.

Such are those on whom the Word concerning nations of the jinn and mankind which have passed away before them hath effect. Lo! they are the losers.

Such are they against whom is proved the sentence among the previous generations of Jinns and men, that have passed away; for they will be (utterly) lost.

এরা হল তারাই যাদের প্রতি আল্লাহর ‘আযাবের সিদ্ধান্ত হয়ে গেছে, তাদের মত জ্বিন ও মানুষের মধ্যে হতে যারা তাদের পূর্বে গত হয়ে গেছে। এরা চরমভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।

তাদের পূর্বে যে জিন ও মানবজাতি গত হয়ে গেছে, তাদের মত এদের প্রতিও আল্লাহর বাণী সত্য হয়েছে। নিশ্চয় এরা ছিল ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।

এদের পূর্বে যে জিন ও মানুষ সম্প্রদায় গত হয়েছে তাদের মত এদের প্রতিও আল্লাহর উক্তি সত্য হয়েছে। এরাই ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত।

এরা তো তারা, যাদের উপর সত্য হয়েছে আযাবের সে ফয়সালা, যা সত্য হয়েছিল সে সব উম্মতের জন্য যারা গত হয়ে গেছে এদের আগে, জিন ও ইনসান থেকে। নিশ্চয় তারা ছিল ক্ষতিগ্ৰস্ত।

এরাই ঐসব লোক, যাদের ওপর (আযাবের) কথা সত্য হয়ে গেছে। এদের আগে জিন ও মানুষের মধ্যে (এ ধরনের) যারা গত হয়ে গেছে তাদের সাথে এরাও গিয়ে শামিল হবে। অবশ্যই এরা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হবে।

১৮. এদের জন্য পূর্বেকার জিন ও মানব জাতির অনেকের মতো শাস্তি অবধারিত। তারা নিশ্চিত ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত। তারা জাহান্নামে প্রবেশের মাধ্যমে নিজেদের ক্ষতি সাধন করেছে।
