সাবা: 45

And those before them denied, and they [i.e., the people of Makkah] have not attained a tenth of what We had given them. But they [i.e., the former peoples] denied My messengers, so how [terrible] was My reproach.

And those before them belied; these have not received one tenth (1/10th) of what We had granted to those (of old), yet they belied My Messengers, then how (terrible) was My denial (punishment)!

And those before them had rejected (the prophets), while these (infidels of Makkah) have not reached even one tenth of what We gave to those (before them). So, they rejected my Messengers. Then (imagine) how was My censure!

Those who went before them also denounced (Allah's Messengers) as liars. They have not attained even a tenth of what We had given them. But when they rejected My Messengers, calling them liars, how terrible was My chastisement!

Those before them denied, and these have not attained a tithe of that which We bestowed on them (of old); yet they denied My messengers. How intense then was My abhorrence (of them)!

And their predecessors rejected (the Truth); these have not received a tenth of what We had granted to those: yet when they rejected My messengers, how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)!

তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও (সত্যকে) মিথ্যে বলে অস্বীকার করেছিল। আমি তাদেরকে যা দিয়েছিলাম, এরা তার এক দশমাংশও পায়নি। তবুও ওরা যখন আমার রসূলগণকে অস্বীকার করেছিল তখন কত ভয়ংকর হয়েছিল আমার শাস্তি।

আর তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও অস্বীকার করেছে। অথচ আমি তাদের [পূর্ববর্তীদের] যা দিয়েছিলাম এরা তার এক দশমাংশও পায়নি, তবুও তারা আমার রাসূলদের অস্বীকার করেছিল। ফলে আমার প্রত্যাখ্যান (শাস্তি) কেমন হয়েছিল?

তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও মিথ্যা আরোপ করেছিল। তাদেরকে আমি যা দিয়েছিলাম এরা তার এক দশমাংশও পায়নি, তবুও তারা আমার রাসূলদেরকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলেছিল। ফলে কত ভয়ংকর হয়েছিল আমার শাস্তি!

আর তাদের পূর্ববতীরাও মিথ্যারোপ করেছিল। অথচ তাদেরকে আমরা যা দিয়েছিলাম, এরা (মক্কাবাসীরা) তার এক-দশমাংশও পায়নি, তারপরও তারা আমার রাসূলগণের প্রতি মিথ্যারোপ করেছে। ফলে কেমন হয়েছিল আমার প্রত্যাখ্যান (শাস্তি)!

এদের পূর্ববতীরাও মিথ্যারোপ করে অস্বীকার করেছিল। তাদেরকে আমি যা দিয়েছিলাম এরা তার দশ ভাগের এক ভাগও পায়নি। তবুও যখন তারা আমার রাসূলদেরকে অস্বীকার করেছিল তখন কেমন হয়েছিল আমার শাস্তি।

৪৫. আপনার পূর্বের জাতিরা অবিশ্বাস করেছে যথা আদ, সামূদ ও লুত্ব সম্প্রদায়। আর আপনার সম্প্রদায়। তাদের শক্তি, প্রতাপ ও সম্পদ সংখ্যায় এক দশমাংশও নয় তদুপরি তাদের সম্পদ, ক্ষমতা ও সংখ্যা কোন উপকারে আসেনি। আমার শাস্তি তাদের উপর পতিত হয়েছে। অতএব, হে রসূল! আপনি দেখুন, কীভাবে তাদের উপর আমার অসন্তুষ্টি ও শাস্তি পতিত হয়েছে।
