Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."

Then He Istawa (rose over) towards the heaven when it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth: "Come both of you willingly or unwillingly." They both said: "We come, willingly."

Then He turned straight to the sky, while it was a smoke, and said to it and to the earth, “Come (to My obedience), both of you, willingly or unwillingly.” Both said, “We come willingly.”

Then He turned to the heaven while it was all smoke. He said to the heaven and the earth: “Come (into being), willingly or unwillingly.” They said: “Here we come (into being) in willing obeisance.”

Then turned He to the heaven when it was smoke, and said unto it and unto the earth: Come both of you, willingly or loth. They said: We come, obedient.

Moreover He comprehended in His design the sky, and it had been (as) smoke: He said to it and to the earth: "Come ye together, willingly or unwillingly." They said: "We do come (together), in willing obedience."

তারপর নজর দিয়েছেন আকাশের দিকে যখন তা ছিল ধোঁয়া (’র মত)। তখন তিনি আকাশ আর পৃথিবীকে বললেন- আমার অনুগত হও, ইচ্ছায় অথবা অনিচ্ছায়। উভয়ে বলল- আমরা স্বেচ্ছায় অনুগত হলাম।

তারপর তিনি আসমানের দিকে মনোনিবেশ করেন। তা ছিল ধোঁয়া। তারপর তিনি আসমান ও যমীনকে বললেন, ‘তোমরা উভয়ে স্বেচ্ছায় অথবা অনিচ্ছায় আস’। তারা উভয়ে বলল, ‘আমরা অনুগত হয়ে আসলাম’।

অতঃপর তিনি আকাশের দিকে মনোনিবেশ করেন যা ছিল ধূম্রপুঞ্জ বিশেষ। অতঃপর তিনি ওটাকে এবং পৃথিবীকে বললেনঃ তোমরা উভয়ে এসো স্বেচ্ছায় অথবা অনিচ্ছায়। তারা বললঃ আমরা এলাম অনুগত হয়ে।

তারপর তিনি আসমানের প্রতি ইচ্ছে করলেন, যা (পূর্বে) ছিল ধোঁয়া। অতঃপর তিনি ওটাকে (আসমান) ও যমীনকে বললেন, 'তোমরা উভয়ে আস ইচ্ছায় বা অনিচ্ছায়।' তারা বলল, 'আমরা আসলাম অনুগত হয়ে।'

অতঃপর তিনি আকাশের দিকে মনোনিবেশ করেন যা ছিল ধুম্র বিশেষ। অনন্তর তিনি আকাশ ও পৃথিবীকে বললেন : তোমরা উভয়ে এসো ইচ্ছা অথবা অনিচ্ছায়। তারা বলল : আমরা আসলাম অনুগত হয়ে।

১১. অতঃপর মহান আল্লাহ আসমান সৃষ্টির ইচ্ছা পোষণ করলেন। সে দিন তা ছিল ধূম্রপুঞ্জবিশেষ। তিনি তাকে ও যমীনকে বললেন, তোমরা উভয়ে ইচ্ছায়-অনিচ্ছায় আমার নির্দেশের অনুগত হও। এ নির্দেশকে এড়িয়ে চলার কোন উপায় নেই। তারা বললো, আমরা অনুগত হয়ে এসে গেলাম। হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আপনার ইচ্ছার বাহিরে আমাদের কোন পছন্দ নেই।
