ফুসসিলাত: 50

And if We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, he will surely say, "This is [due] to me, and I do not think the Hour will occur; and [even] if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best." But We will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and We will surely make them taste a massive punishment.

And truly, if We give him a taste of mercy from us, after some adversity (severe poverty or disease, etc.) has touched him, he is sure to say: "This is for me (due to my merit), I think not that the Hour will be established. But if I am brought back to my Lord, Surely, there will be for me the best (wealth, etc.) with Him. Then, We verily, will show to the disbelievers what they have done and We shall make them taste a severe torment.

And if We give him a taste of some mercy from Us after some hardship that has touched him, he will surely say, “This is my right. And I do not think the Hour (the Day of Judgment) is going to occur. And even if I am brought back to my Lord, I will surely have the best (life) with Him (too).”So, We will let the disbelievers know what they did, and let them taste a stern punishment.

And if We bestow Our Mercy upon him after hardship, he will surely say: “This is what I truly deserve, and I do not believe that the Hour (of Resurrection) will ever come to pass; and if I am returned to my Lord, there too I shall enjoy the best.” Surely We shall fully apprise the unbelievers of what they have done, and We shall certainly make them taste a severe chastisement.

And verily, if We cause him to taste mercy after some hurt that hath touched him, he will say: This is my own; and I deem not that the Hour will ever rise, and if I am brought back to my Lord, I surely shall be better off with Him - But We verily shall tell those who disbelieve (all) that they did, and We verily shall make them taste hard punishment.

When we give him a taste of some Mercy from Ourselves, after some adversity has touched him, he is sure to say, "This is due to my (merit): I think not that the Hour (of Judgment) will (ever) be established; but if I am brought back to my Lord, I have (much) good (stored) in His sight!" But We will show the Unbelievers the truth of all that they did, and We shall give them the taste of a severe Penalty.

দুঃখ-বিপদ মানুষকে স্পর্শ করার পর আমি যখন তাকে আমার অনুগ্রহ আস্বাদন করাই তখন সে অবশ্য অবশ্যই বলে- এটা আমার ন্যায্য পাওনা। ক্বিয়ামত যে সংঘটিত হবে আমি মোটেই তা মনে করি না। আর যদি আমাকে আমার প্রতিপালকের নিকট ফিরিয়ে নেয়া হয়ই, তবে তাঁর কাছে আমার জন্য অবশ্যই কল্যাণ আছে। অতঃপর আমি কাফিরদেরকে অবশ্য অবশ্যই জানিয়ে দেব তারা (দুনিয়াতে) কী কাজ করেছিল। আর অবশ্য অবশ্যই তাদেরকে আমি কঠিন শাস্তি আস্বাদন করাব।

আবার আমি যদি তাকে আপতিত অকল্যাণের পর রহমতের স্বাদ আস্বাদন করাই তখন সে অবশ্যই বলে থাকে, ‘এটি আমার প্রাপ্য, আমার মনে হয় না কিয়ামত হবে, আমাকে যদি আমার রবের কাছে ফিরিয়েও নেয়া হয় তবুও তার কাছে আমার জন্য কল্যাণই থাকবে।’ (আল্লাহ বলেন) ‘আমি অবশ্যই কাফিরদেরকে তাদের আমল সম্পর্কে অবহিত করব এবং অবশ্যই তাদেরকে কঠিন আযাবের স্বাদ আস্বাদন করাব।

দুঃখ দৈন্য স্পর্শ করার পর যদি তাকে আমি অনুগ্রহের আস্বাদ দিই তখন সে বলেই থাকেঃ এটা আমার প্রাপ্য এবং আমি মনে করিনা যে, কিয়ামাত সংঘটিত হবে; আর আমি যদি আমার রবের নিকট প্রত্যাবর্তিত হইও তাহলে তাঁর নিকটতো আমার জন্য কল্যাণই থাকবে। আমি কাফিরদেরকে তাদের কৃতকর্ম সম্বন্ধে অবশ্যই অবহিত করব এবং তাদেরকে আস্বাদন করাব কঠোর শাস্তি।

আর যদি দুঃখ-দৈন্য স্পর্শ করার পর আমরা তাকে আমার পক্ষ থেকে অনুগ্রহের আস্বাদন দেই, তখন সে অবশ্যই বলে থাকে, 'এ আমার প্রাপ্য এবং আমি মনে করি না যে, কিয়ামত সংঘটিত হবে। আর যদি আমাকে আমার রবের কাছে ফিরিয়ে নেয়াও হয়, তবুও তাঁর কাছে আমার জন্য কল্যাণই থাকবে।' অতএব, আমরা অবশ্যই কাফিরদেরকে তাদের আমল সম্বন্ধে অবহিত করব এবং তাদেরকে অবশ্যই আস্বাদন করাব কঠোর শাস্তি।

দুঃখ-কষ্ট স্পর্শ করাবার পর যদি তাকে আমি অনুগ্রহ আস্বাদন করাই তখন সে বলেই থাকে : এটা আমার প্রাপ্য এবং আমি মনে করি না যে, কিয়ামত সংঘটিত হবে, আর আমি যদি আমার প্রতিপালকের নিকট প্রত্যাবর্তিত হইও তবে তাঁর নিকট তো আমার জন্য কল্যাণই থাকবে। আমি কাফিরদেরকে তাদের কৃতকর্ম সম্বন্ধে অবশ্যই অবহিত করব এবং তাদেরকে আস্বাদান করাব কঠোর শাস্তি।

৫০. আর আমি যদি তাকে বিপদগ্রস্ত ও রোগাক্রান্ত করার পর সুস্বাস্থ্য, ধনাঢ্যতা ও নিরাপত্তা প্রদান করি তাহলে সে অচিরেই বলবে, এটি আমারই। কেননা, আমি এর অধিকারী। আর আমি মনে করি না যে, কিয়ামত অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। একান্ত যদি ধরে নেয়া যায় যে, কিয়ামত অনুষ্ঠিত হবে তাহলে আল্লাহর নিকট আমার জন্য ধনাঢ্যতা ও সম্পদ থাকবে। যেভাবে আমি অধিকারী হিসাবে দুনিয়াতে তিনি আমাকে নি‘আমত প্রদান করেছেন ঠিক পরকালেও তা প্রদান করবেন। তাই আমি আল্লাহকে অস্বীকারকারীদেরকে তাদের কুফরী ও পাপাচারের সংবাদ অবশ্যই প্রদান করবো এবং তাদেরকে চরম পর্যায়ের কঠিন শাস্তি আস্বাদন করাবো।
