আল-আহযাব: 5

Call them by [the names of] their fathers; it is more just in the sight of Allāh. But if you do not know their fathers - then they are [still] your brothers in religion and those entrusted to you. And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred but [only for] what your hearts intended. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.

Call them (adopted sons) by (the names of) their fathers, that is more just with Allah. But if you know not their father's (names, call them) your brothers in faith and Mawalikum (your freed slaves). And there is no sin on you if you make a mistake therein, except in regard to what your hearts deliberately intend. And Allah is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful.

Call them by (the name of) their (real) fathers; It is more equitable in the sight of Allah. And if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brothers in faith and your friends. There is no sin on you in the mistake you make, but in that which you do with intention of your heart; and Allah is Most-Forgiving, Very-Merciful.

Call your adopted sons after their true fathers; that is more equitable in the sight of Allah. But if you do not know their true fathers, then regard them as your brethren in faith and as allies. You will not be taken to task for your mistaken utterances, but you will be taken to task for what you say deliberately. Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate.

Proclaim their real parentage. That will be more equitable in the sight of Allah. And if ye know not their fathers, then (they are) your brethren in the faith, and your clients. And there is no sin for you in the mistakes that ye make unintentionally, but what your hearts purpose (that will be a sin for you). Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

Call them by (the names of) their fathers: that is juster in the sight of Allah. But if ye know not their father's (names, call them) your Brothers in faith, or your maulas. But there is no blame on you if ye make a mistake therein: (what counts is) the intention of your hearts: and Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

তাদেরকে তাদের পিতৃ-পরিচয়ে ডাক, আল্লাহর কাছে এটাই অধিক ইনসাফপূর্ণ। আর যদি তোমরা তাদের পিতৃ-পরিচয় না জান, তাহলে তারা তোমাদের দ্বীনী ভাই এবং তোমাদের বন্ধু। এ ব্যাপারে তোমাদের ত্রুটি-বিচ্যুতি হলে তোমাদের কোন গুনাহ্ নেই, কিন্তু (ধর্তব্য হল) তোমাদের অন্তরের সংকল্প। আল্লাহ অতি ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

তোমরা তাদেরকে তাদের পিতৃ-পরিচয়ে ডাক; আল্লাহর কাছে এটাই অধিক ইনসাফপূর্ণ। অতঃপর যদি তোমরা তাদের পিতৃ-পরিচয় না জান, তাহলে তারা তোমাদের দীনি ভাই এবং তোমাদের বন্ধু। আর এ বিষয়ে তোমরা কোন ভুল করলে তোমাদের কোন পাপ নেই; কিন্তু তোমাদের অন্তরে সংকল্প থাকলে (পাপ হবে)। আর আল্লাহ অধিক ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

তোমরা তাদেরকে ডাক তাদের পিতৃ পরিচয়ে; আল্লাহর দৃষ্টিতে এটা অধিক ন্যায় সঙ্গত, যদি তোমরা তাদের পিতৃ-পরিচয় না জান তাহলে তারা তোমাদের ধর্মীয় ভাই অথবা বন্ধু; এ ব্যাপারে তোমরা কোন ভুল করলে তোমাদের কোন অপরাধ নেই, কিন্তু তোমাদের অন্তরে সংকল্প থাকলে অপরাধ হবে। আর আল্লাহ ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

ডাকো তোমরা তাদেরকে তাদের পিতৃ পরিচয়ে; আল্লাহর নিকট এটাই বেশী ন্যায়সংগত। অতঃপর যদি তোমরা তাদের পিতৃ পরিচয় না জান, তবে তারা তোমাদের দীনি ভাই এবং বন্ধু। আর এ ব্যাপারে তোমরা কোনো অনিচ্ছাকৃত ভুল করলে তোমাদের কোনো অপরাধ নেই; কিন্তু তোমাদের অন্তর যা স্বেচ্ছায় করেছে (তা অপরাধ), আর আল্লাহ্ ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

তোমরা তাদেরকে আহ্বান কর তাদের প্রকৃত পিতৃ পরিচয়ে, এটাই আল্লাহ্র কাছে অধিক ইনসাফপূর্ণ। যদি তোমরা তাদের প্রকৃত পিতৃ-পরিচয় না জান, তবে তারা তোমাদের দীনি ভাই এবং বন্ধুরূপে গণ্য হবে। এ ব্যাপারে তোমরা যে ভূল-ত্র“টি করে ফেলেছ তাতে তোমাদের কোন গুনাহ হবে না, কিন্তু অন্তরে ইচ্ছা থাকলে গুনাহ্ হবে। আর আল্লাহ পরম ক্ষমাশীল, পরম দয়ালু।

৫. তোমরা যাদেরকে তোমাদের সন্তান বলে মনে করো তাদেরকে তাদের প্রকৃত পিতাদের প্রতি সম্বন্ধিত করো। তাদের প্রতি সম্বন্ধিত করা আল্লাহর নিকট ইনসাফের নামান্তর। আর যদি তাদেরকে সম্বন্ধিত করার মত পিতাদের সন্ধান না পাও তবে তারা তোমাদের দ্বীনি ভাই ও তোমাদের কর্তৃক দাসত্বের পরাধীনতা থেকে মুক্ত হিসাবে পরিগণিত হবে। ফলে তাদেরকে ওহে ভাই কিংবা ওহে চাচাতো ভাই বলে আহ্বান করো। আর ভুলবশতঃ কেউ যদি কোন পিতৃত্বের দাবীদারের প্রতি সম্বন্ধ করে ফেলে তবে তাতে কোন দোষ নেই। কিন্তু স্বেচ্ছায় এমনটি করলে পাপী হবে। আল্লাহ তাঁর বান্দাদের মধ্যে যারা তাঁর নিকট তাওবা করে তাদের ব্যাপারে ক্ষমামীল ও দয়াশীল। তাই তো তিনি তাদেরকে ভুলের কারণে পাকড়াও করেন না।
