আল-আহযাব: 8

That He may question the truthful about their truth. And He has prepared for the disbelievers a painful punishment.

That He may ask the truthfuls (Allah's Messengers and His Prophets) about their truth (i.e. the conveyance of Allah's Message that which they were charged with). And He has prepared for the disbelievers a painful torment (Hell-fire).

so that He (Allah) may ask the truthful ones about their truth. And He has prepared a painful punishment for the disbelievers.

so that (their Lord) may question the truthful about their truthfulness. As for the unbelievers, He has kept a painful chastisement in store for them.

That He may ask the loyal of their loyalty. And He hath prepared a painful doom for the unfaithful.

That (Allah) may question the (custodians) of Truth concerning the Truth they (were charged with): And He has prepared for the Unbelievers a grievous Penalty.

সত্যবাদীদেরকে (অর্থাৎ নবীদেরকে) তাদের সত্যবাদিতা (অর্থাৎ আল্লাহর বাণী পৌঁছে দেয়ার কাজ) সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞেস করার জন্য। তিনি কাফিরদের জন্য প্রস্তুত করে রেখেছেন ভয়াবহ শাস্তি।

সত্যবাদীদেরকে তাদের সত্যবাদিতা সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞাসা করার জন্য। আর তিনি প্রস্তুত করে রেখেছেন কাফিরদের জন্য যন্ত্রণাদায়ক আযাব।

সত্যবাদীদেরকে তাদের সত্যবাদিতা সম্বন্ধে জিজ্ঞেস করার জন্য। তিনি কাফিরদের জন্য প্রস্তুত রেখেছেন মর্মন্তদ শাস্তি!

সত্যবাদীদেরকে তাদের সত্যবাদিতা সম্মন্ধে জিজ্ঞেস করার জন্য। আর তিনি কাফিরদের জন্য প্রস্তুত রেখেছেন যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি।

যেন তিনি সত্যবাদীদেরকে তাদের সত্যবাদীতা সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞেস করেন; আর তিনি কাফিরদের জন্য প্রস্তুত করে রেখেছেন যন্ত্রণাদায়ক শাস্তি।

৮. আল্লাহ নবীদের নিকট থেকে এহেন দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকার গ্রহণ করেছেন। যাতে করে কাফিরদেরকে নিরুত্তর করার জন্যে সত্যবাদী রাসূলদেরকে প্রশ্ন করতে পারেন। আর তাঁকে ও তাঁর রাসূলদেরকে অস্বীকারকারীদের উদ্দেশ্যে কষ্ট দায়ক শাস্তি প্রস্তুত করে রেখেছেন যা হচ্ছে জাহান্নাম।
