আল-আনফাল: 7

[Remember, O believers], when Allāh promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours - and you wished that the unarmed one would be yours. But Allāh intended to establish the truth by His words and to eliminate the disbelievers

And (remember) when Allah promised you (Muslims) one of the two parties (of the enemy i.e. either the army or the caravan) that it should be yours, you wished that the one not armed (the caravan) should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the truth by His Words and to cut off the roots of the disbelievers (i.e. in the battle of Badr).

And recall when Allah was promising you that one of the two groups would become yours, and you were wishing that the one without strength should fall to you. And Allah wanted to establish the truth through His words and to cut off the very root of the disbelievers,

And recall when Allah promised you that one of the two hosts would fall to you, and you wished that the one without arms should fall into your hands. But Allah sought to prove by His words the truth to be true and to annihilate the unbelievers to the last remnant

And when Allah promised you one of the two bands (of the enemy) that it should be yours, and ye longed that other than the armed one might be yours. And Allah willed that He should cause the Truth to triumph by His words, and cut the root of the disbelievers;

Behold! Allah promised you one of the two (enemy) parties, that it should be yours: Ye wished that the one unarmed should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the Truth according to His words and to cut off the roots of the Unbelievers;-

স্মরণ কর, যখন আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন যে, দু’টি দলের মধ্যে একটি তোমরা পাবে, আর তোমরা চেয়েছিলে যেন নিরস্ত্র দলটি তোমরা লাভ কর আর আল্লাহ চেয়েছিলেন তাঁর বাণী দ্বারা সত্যকে সত্যরূপে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করতে আর কাফিরদের জড় কেটে দিতে।

আর স্মরণ কর, যখন আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে দু’দলের একটির ওয়াদা দিয়েছিলেন যে, নিশ্চয় তা তোমাদের জন্য হবে। আর তোমরা কামনা করছিলে যে, অস্ত্রহীন দলটি তোমাদের জন্য হবে এবং আল্লাহ চাচ্ছিলেন তাঁর কালেমাসমূহ দ্বারা সত্যকে সত্য প্রমাণ করবেন এবং কাফেরদের মূল কেটে দেবেন।

স্মরণ কর, যখন আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে দু’টি দলের মধ্য হতে একটি সম্বন্ধে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন যে, ওটা তোমাদের করতলগত হবে। তোমরা এই আশা করেছিলে যেন নিরস্ত্র দলটি তোমাদের আয়ত্তে এসে পড়ে, আর আল্লাহর ইচ্ছা ছিল এই যে, তিনি স্বীয় নির্দেশাবলী দ্বারা সত্যকে সত্যরূপে প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন এবং কাফিরদেরকে নির্মূল করেন।

আর স্মরণ কর, যখন আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে প্রতিশ্রুতি দেন যে, দু দলের একদল তোমাদের আয়ত্তাধীন হবে; অথচ তোমরা চাচ্ছিলে যে, নিরস্ত্র দলটি তোমাদের আয়ত্তাধীন হোক। আর আল্লাহ্‌ চাচ্ছিলেন যে, তিনি সত্যকে তাঁর বাণী দ্বারা প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেন এবং কাফেরদেরকে নির্মূল করেন।

স্মরণ কর, যখন আল্লাহ তোমাদেরকে প্রতিশ্র“তি দিয়েছিলেন যে, দু’ দলের একদল তোমাদের আয়ত্তাধীন হবে; অথচ তোমরা চাচ্ছিলে যে, নিরস্ত্র দলটি তোমাদের আয়ত্তাধীন হোক। আর আল্লাহ চাচ্ছিলেন যে, তিনি সত্যকে তাঁর বাণী দ্বারা প্রতিষ্ঠিত করবেন এবং কাফিরদেরকে নির্মূল করবেন;

৭. হে ঝগড়াকারী মু’মিনরা! তোমরা সে সময়ের কথা স্মরণ করো যখন আল্লাহ তা‘আলা তোমাদের সাথে এ ওয়াদা করেছেন যে, তিনি অচিরেই তোমাদেরকে মুশরিকদের দু’ দলের কোন একটিকে আয়ত্বে আনার সুযোগ করে দিবেন। একটি ছিলো ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসায়ী দল এবং তারা যে সম্পদগুলো বহন করে আনছে। তা তোমরা গনীমত তথা যুদ্ধলব্ধ সম্পদ হিসেবে গ্রহণ করবে। অন্যটি ছিলো যুদ্ধের জন্য প্রস্তুত দল। যাদের সাথে যুদ্ধ করে তোমরা তাদের উপর জয়লাভ করবে। বস্তুতঃ তোমরা চাচ্ছিলে ব্যবসায়ী দলকে ধরার জন্য। কারণ, যুদ্ধ ছাড়া তাদেরকে আয়ত্ব করা খুবই সহজ। অথচ আল্লাহ তা‘আলা চাচ্ছিলেন তোমাদেরকে যুদ্ধের ময়দানে এনে সত্যকে বাস্তবায়িত করতে। যাতে তোমরা মুশরিকদের নেতাদেরকে হত্যা এবং তাদের অধিকাংশকে বন্দী করতে পারো। ফলে ইসলামের শক্তি জনসমক্ষে প্রকাশ পাবে।
