আন-নামল: 56

But the answer of his people was not except that they said, "Expel the family of Lot from your city. Indeed, they are people who keep themselves pure."

There was no other answer given by his people except that they said: "Drive out the family of Lout (Lot) from your city. Verily, these are men who want to be clean and pure!"

So, the answer of his people was not else but that they said, “Expel the family of LūT from your town. They are a people who over-indulge in purity.”

But this had only one answer from his people. They said: "Expel Lot's folk from your city. They pretend to be absolutely clean."

But the answer of his folk was naught save that they said: Expel the household of Lot from your township, for they (forsooth) are folk who would keep clean!

But his people gave no other answer but this: they said, "Drive out the followers of Lut from your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!"

তখন তার সম্প্রদায়ের এ কথা বলা ছাড়া আর কোন জওয়াব ছিল না যে, তোমাদের জনপদ থেকে লূতের পরিবারবর্গকে বের করে দাও, এরা এমন লোক যারা পবিত্র সাজতে চায়।

ফলে তার কওমের জবাব একমাত্র এই ছিল যে, ‘লূতের পরিবারকে তোমাদের জনপদ থেকে বের করে দাও। নিশ্চয় এরা এমন লোক যারা পবিত্র থাকতে চায়’।

উত্তরে তার সম্প্রদায় শুধু বললঃ লূত পরিবারকে তোমাদের জনপদ হতে বহিস্কার কর, এরাতো এমন লোক যারা অতি পবিত্র সাজতে চায়।

উত্তরে তার সম্প্রদায় শুধু বলল, ‘লূত-পরিবারকে তোমরা জনপদ থেকে বহিস্কার কর, এরা তো এমন লোক যারা পবিত্র থাকতে চায়।’

উত্তরে তার সম্প্রদায়ের একথা বলা ছাড়া আর কোন কথা ছিল না যে, ‎‘লূত-পরিবারকে তোমাদের জনপদ হতে বহিষ্কার করে দাও‎, এরা তো এমন লোক যারা পবিত্র থাকতে চায়।’

৫৬. তখন তাঁর সম্প্রদায়ের একটিই উত্তর ছিলো। তারা বললো: তোমরা লূতের পরিবারকে নিজেদের এলাকা থেকে বের করে দাও। কারণ, তারা এমন কিছু মানুষ যারা নাপাক ও কদর্যতা থেকে পবিত্র থাকতে চায়। তারা এ কথা বললো লূত (আলাইহিস-সালাম) এর পরিবারের সাথে ঠাট্টা করে। যারা অশ্লীল কাজে তাদের অংশীদার হতো না। বরং তা করার ব্যাপারে তারা ওদেরকে নিন্দা করতো।
