আয-যুমার: 8

And when adversity touches man, he calls upon his Lord, turning to Him [alone]; then when He bestows on him a favor from Himself, he forgets Him whom he called upon before, and he attributes to Allāh equals to mislead [people] from His way. Say, "Enjoy your disbelief for a little; indeed, you are of the companions of the Fire."

And when some hurt touches man, he cries to his Lord (Allah Alone), turning to Him in repentance, but when He bestows a favour upon him from Himself, he forgets that for which he cried for before, and he sets up rivals to Allah, in order to mislead others from His Path. Say: "Take pleasure in your disbelief for a while: surely, you are (one) of the dwellers of the Fire!"

And when man is afflicted by pain, he calls his Lord turning to Him passionately. Thereafter, when He blesses him with some favor from Him, he forgets that for which he was calling Him earlier, and sets up partners for Allah, so that he leads others astray from His way. Say, “Enjoy (the pleasure of) your disbelief for a while, (then) surely, you are from among the people of the Fire.”

When any affliction befalls man, he cries out to his Lord, penitently turning to Him. But when his Lord bestows His favour upon him, he forgets the affliction regarding which he had cried out and sets up compeers to Allah that they may lead others astray from His Path. Say, (O Prophet): “Enjoy your unbelief for a while. Surely you will be among the inmates of the Fire.”

And when some hurt toucheth man, he crieth unto his Lord, turning unto Him (repentant). Then, when He granteth him a boon from Him he forgetteth that for which he cried unto Him before, and setteth up rivals to Allah that he may beguile (men) from his way. Say (O Muhammad, unto such an one): Take pleasure in thy disbelief a while. Lo! thou art of the owners of the Fire.

When some trouble toucheth man, he crieth unto his Lord, turning to Him in repentance: but when He bestoweth a favour upon him as from Himself, (man) doth forget what he cried and prayed for before, and he doth set up rivals unto Allah, thus misleading others from Allah's Path. Say, "Enjoy thy blasphemy for a little while: verily thou art (one) of the Companions of the Fire!"

দুঃখ-মুসিবত যখন মানুষকে স্পর্শ করে তখন সে তার প্রতিপালককে ডাকতে থাকে তাঁর প্রতি বড়ই একনিষ্ঠ হয়ে। অতঃপর তিনি যখন নিজ পক্ষ থেকে অনুগ্রহ দিয়ে তাকে ধন্য করেন, তখন পূর্বে সে যেজন্য তাঁকে ডেকেছিল তা ভুলে যায় এবং অন্যদেরকে আল্লাহর সমকক্ষ দাঁড় করায় তাঁর পথ থেকে পথভ্রষ্ট করার জন্য। বলে দাও, কুফুরীর জীবন কিছুকাল ভোগ করে নাও, (অতঃপর) তুমি তো হবে জাহান্নামের অধিবাসী। (এ ব্যক্তি ভাল, না ঐ ব্যক্তি)

আর যখন মানুষকে স্পর্শ করে দুঃখ-দুর্দশা, তখন সে একাগ্রচিত্তে তার রবকে ডাকে, তারপর তিনি যখন তাকে নিজের পক্ষ থেকে নিআমত দান করেন তখন সে ভুলে যায় ইতঃপূর্বে কি কারণে তাঁর কাছে দোয়া করেছিল, আর আল্লাহর সমকক্ষ নির্ধারণ করে, তাঁর পথ থেকে বিচ্যুত করার জন্য। বল, ‘তোমার কুফরী উপভোগ কর ক্ষণকাল; নিশ্চয় তুমি জাহান্নামীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।’

মানুষকে যখন দুঃখ দৈন্য স্পর্শ করে তখন সে অনুতপ্ত হয়ে একনিষ্ঠভাবে তার রাব্বকে ডাকে। কিন্তু পরে যখন তিনি তার প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করেন তখন সে বিস্মৃত হয়ে যায় পূর্বে যাকে সে ডেকেছিল তাঁকে এবং সে আল্লাহর সমকক্ষ দাঁড় করায়, অপরকে তাঁর পথ হতে বিভ্রান্ত করার জন্য। বলঃ কুফরীর জীবন অবস্থায় তুমি কিছু কাল উপভোগ করে নাও। বস্তুতঃ তুমিতো জাহান্নামেরই অধিবাসী।

আর মানুষকে যখন দুঃখ-দৈন্য স্পর্শ করে তখন সে একাগ্ৰচিত্তে তার রবকে ডাকে। তারপর যখন তিনি নিজের পক্ষ থেকে তার প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করেন তখন সে ভুলে যায় তার আগে যার জন্য সে ডেকেছিল তাঁকে এবং সে আল্লাহর সমকক্ষ দাঁড় করায়, অন্যকে তাঁর পথ থেকে বিভ্ৰান্ত করার জন্য। বলুন, ‘কুফরীর জীবন তুমি কিছুকাল উপভোগ করে নাও। নিশ্চয় তুমি আগুনের অধিবাসীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।'

আর যখন মানুষের ওপর কোন বিপদ এসে পড়ে তখন সে তার প্রতিপালককে আহ্বান করতে থাকে একাগ্রচিত্তে তাঁর অভিমুখী হয়ে। পরে যখন তিনি তাকে নিজের পক্ষ থেকে নেয়ামত দান করেন তখন সে ভুলে যায় সে কথা, যার জন্য পূর্বে তাঁকে আহ্বান করেছিল এবং আল্লাহর অংশী স্থাপন করে, যাতে অপরকে আল্লাহর পথ থেকে গুমরাহ করতে পারে। তুমি বল! কুফর অবস্থায় তুমি কিছুকাল উপভোগ করে নাও, নিশ্চয়ই তুমি তো জাহান্নামীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।

৮. যখন কাফিরকে কোন অসুখ কিংবা সম্পদহানি বা পানিতে ডুবার বিপদ পেয়ে বসে তখন স্বীয় প্রতিপালককে তার বিপদ মুক্তির জন্য তাঁর দিকে প্রত্যাবর্তনপূর্বক এককভাবে আহ্বান করে। অতঃপর তার বিপদ সরে গেলে সে আল্লাহকে ভুলে যায় এবং আল্লাহর সাথে অন্যদেরকে শরীক বানিয়ে ফেলে। উপরন্তু আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে তাদের ইবাদাত শুরু করে দেয়। হে রাসূল! এই অবস্থা সম্পন্নকে আপনি বলুন: তুমি তোমার অতি অল্প সময়ের অবশিষ্ট জীবনকে কুফরীর মাধ্যমে সামান্য উপভোগ করে নাও। কেননা, তুমি কিয়ামত দিবসে জাহান্নামের স্থায়ী অধিবাসী হয়ে থাকবে। যেমন কোন সাথী স্বীয় সাথীর সাথে জড়িয়ে থাকে।
