আত-তাওবা: 93

The cause [for blame] is only upon those who ask permission of you while they are rich. They are satisfied to be with those who stay behind, and Allāh has sealed over their hearts, so they do not know.

The ground (of complaint) is only against those who are rich, and yet ask exemption. They are content to be with (the women) who sit behind (at home) and Allah has sealed up their hearts (from all kinds of goodness and right guidance) so that they know not (what they are losing).

Blame lies, in fact, on those who ask you permission despite being rich. They are happy being with women who sit back. Allah has sealed their hearts; so they do not know.

[9:93] But there are grounds for reproach against those who seek leave to stay behind even though they are affluent. They are the ones who were content to be with the womenfolk who stay behind. Allah has set a seal on their hearts, leaving them bereft of understanding.

The road (of blame) is only against those who ask for leave of thee (to stay at home) when they are rich. They are content to be with the useless. Allah hath sealed their hearts so that they know not.

The ground (of complaint) is against such as claim exemption while they are rich. They prefer to stay with the (women) who remain behind: Allah hath sealed their hearts; so they know not (What they miss).

অভিযোগ তো তাদের বিরুদ্ধে যারা সম্পদশালী হওয়া সত্ত্বেও (যুদ্ধে যাওয়া হতে) তোমার কাছে অব্যাহতি প্রার্থনা করেছিল, যারা ঘরে বসা থাকা (স্ত্রী লোকদের) সঙ্গে থাকতেই পছন্দ করেছিল, আল্লাহ তাদের হৃদয়কে সীল করে দিয়েছেন আর এজন্য (কিসে নিজেদের কল্যাণ আছে আর কিসে অকল্যাণ) তা তারা জানে না।

কিন্তু (অভিযোগের) পথ আছে তাদের উপর, যারা তোমার কাছে অনুমতি চায় অথচ তারা ধনী, তারা পেছনে থাকা লোকদের সাথে থাকা বেছে নিয়েছে আর আল্লাহ তাদের অন্তর- সমূহের উপর মোহর এঁটে দিয়েছেন, তাই তারা জানে না।

অভিযোগতো শুধুমাত্র ঐ লোকদেরই উপর যারা সামর্থ্যশালী হওয়া সত্ত্বেও (যুদ্ধে গমন না করার) অনুমতি প্রার্থনা করছে, তারা অন্তঃপুরবাসিনী মহিলাদের সাথে থাকাকে অগ্রাধিকার দিচ্ছে। আল্লাহ তাদের অন্তরসমূহের উপর মোহর মেরে দিলেন, কাজেই তারা (পাপ-পুণ্যকে) বুঝতে পারেনা।

যারা অভাবমুক্ত হয়েও অব্যাহতি প্রার্থনা করেছে, অবশ্যই তাদের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগের কারণ আছে। তারা অন্তঃপুরবাসিনীদের সাথে থাকাই পছন্দ করেছিল; আর আল্লাহ্‌ তাদের অন্তরের উপর মোহর এঁটে দিয়েছেন, ফলে তারা জানতে পারে না।

যারা অভাবমুক্ত হয়েও অব্যাহতি প্রার্থনা করেছে, অবশ্যই তাদের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগের পথ আছে। তারা স্ত্রীদের সাথে থাকাই পছন্দ করেছিল; আল্লাহ তাদের অন্তরে মোহর মেরে দিয়েছেন, ফলে তারা বুঝতে পারে না।

৯৩. যারা আপনার নিকট জিহাদে না যাওয়ার অনুমতি চেয়েছে; অথচ তারা তা করতে সক্ষম তাদের জন্য শাস্তি অবধারিত। কারণ, তাদের নিকট প্রস্তুতি নেয়ার সুযোগ ও ব্যবস্থা ছিলো। তারা নিজেদের ব্যাপারে লাঞ্ছনা ও অবমাননায় সন্তুষ্ট। তারা এ ব্যাপারে সন্তুষ্ট যে, তারা পেছনে পড়া লোকদের সাথে নিজেদের ঘরেই অবস্থান করবে। মূলতঃ আল্লাহ তা‘আলা তাদের অন্তরের উপর মোহর মেরে দিয়েছেন। তাই কোন উপদেশ তাতে কাজ করে না। আর এ মোহরের কারণেই তারা জানে না যে, কোন জিনিসে তাদের জন্য ফায়েদা রয়েছে, ফলে তারা তা গ্রহণ করবে আর কোন জিনিসে তাদের বিপদ রয়েছে ফলে তারা তা বর্জন করবে।
