But what would make you perceive, [O Muḥammad], that perhaps he might be purified

But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)?

What could tell you (O prophet about the prospects of the blind man?) May be, (if you had attended him properly,) he would have attained purity,

How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself,

What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace)

But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?-

(হে নবী!) তুমি কি জান, সে হয়ত পরিশুদ্ধ হত।

আর কিসে তোমাকে জানাবে যে, সে হয়ত পরিশুদ্ধ হত।

তুমি কেমন করে জানবে সে হয়তো পরিশুদ্ধ হত,

আর কিসে আপনাকে জানাবে যে, --- সে হয়ত পরিশুদ্ধ হত

তুমি কী জানো, সে হয়তো পরিশুদ্ধ হত,

৩. হে রাসূল! আপনি কি জানেন, এ অন্ধ লোকটিই নিজ পাপ থেকে পরিচ্ছন্ন হবে?!
