আল-কাসাস: 27

He said, "Indeed, I wish to wed you one of these, my two daughters, on [the condition] that you serve me for eight years; but if you complete ten, it will be [as a favor] from you. And I do not wish to put you in difficulty. You will find me, if Allāh wills, from among the righteous."

He said: "I intend to wed one of these two daughters of mine to you, on condition that you serve me for eight years, but if you complete ten years, it will be (a favour) from you. But I intend not to place you under a difficulty. If Allah will, you will find me one of the righteous."

He (the father) said (to Mūsā), “I wish to marry to you one of these two daughters of mine on condition that you act as my employee for eight years. Then if you complete ten (years) it will be of your own accord. And I do not want to put you in any trouble; you will find me, Inshā’allah (God-willing) one of the righteous.”

Her father said to Moses: "I want to marry one of these two daughters of mine to you if you serve me for eight years. But if you complete ten years, that will be of your own accord (but not an obligation). I do not intend to treat you harshly. If Allah wills, you will find me an upright man."

He said: Lo! I fain would marry thee to one of these two daughters of mine on condition that thou hirest thyself to me for (the term of) eight pilgrimages. Then if thou completest ten it will be of thine own accord, for I would not make it hard for thee. Allah willing, thou wilt find me of the righteous.

He said: "I intend to wed one of these my daughters to thee, on condition that thou serve me for eight years; but if thou complete ten years, it will be (grace) from thee. But I intend not to place thee under a difficulty: thou wilt find me, indeed, if Allah wills, one of the righteous."

সে বলল- ‘আমার এই কন্যাদ্বয়ের একজনের সঙ্গে তোমার বিয়ে দেয়ার আমি ইচ্ছে করেছি এই শর্তে যে, তুমি আট বছর আমার কাজ করে দেবে, আর যদি দশ বছর পূর্ণ কর সেটা তোমার ইচ্ছেধীন, আমি তোমাকে কষ্টে ফেলতে চাই না, আল্লাহ ইচ্ছে করলে তুমি আমাকে সৎকর্মপরায়ণ পাবে।’

সে বলল, ‘আমি আমার এই কন্যাদ্বয়ের একজনকে তোমার সাথে বিয়ে দিতে চাই এই শর্তে যে, তুমি আট বছর আমার মজুরী করবে। আর যদি তুমি দশ বছর পূর্ণ কর, তবে সেটা তোমার পক্ষ থেকে (অতিরিক্ত)। আমি তোমাকে কষ্ট দিতে চাই না। তুমি ইনশাআল্লাহ আমাকে সৎকর্মপরায়ণদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত পাবে’।

সে মূসাকে বললঃ আমি আমার এই কন্যাদ্বয়ের একজনকে তোমার সাথে বিয়ে দিতে চাই এই শর্তে যে, তুমি আট বছর আমার কাজ করবে, যদি তুমি দশ বছর পূর্ণ কর সেটা তোমার ইচ্ছা। আমি তোমাকে কষ্ট দিতে চাইনা। আল্লাহ ইচ্ছা করলে তুমি আমাকে সদাচারী পাবে।

তিনি মূসাকে বললেন, ‘আমি আমার এ কন্যাদ্বয়ের একজনকে তোমার সাথে বিয়ে দিতে চাই এ শর্তে যে, তুমি আট বছর আমার কাজ করবে, আর যদি তুমি দশ বছর পূর্ণ কর, সে তোমার ইচ্ছে। আমি তোমাকে কষ্ট দিতে চাই না। আল্লাহ্‌ ইচ্ছে করলে তুমি আমাকে সদাচারী পাবে।’

সে মূসাকে বলল:‎ ‘আমি আমার এ কন্যাদ্বয়ের একজনকে তোমার সঙ্গে বিবাহ দিতে চাই, এ শর্তে যে, তুমি আট বৎসর আমার কাজ করবে, যদি তুমি দশ বৎসর পূর্ণ কর, সে তোমার ইচ্ছা। আমি তোমাকে কষ্ট দিতে চাই না। আল্লাহ ইচ্ছা করলে তুমি আমাকে সৎ কর্মপরায়ণ পাবে।’

২৭. তখন তাদের পিতা মূসা (আলাইহিস-সালাম) কে উদ্দেশ্য করে বললেন: নিশ্চয়ই আমি আমার এ দু’ মেয়ের একটিকে আপনার নিকট বিবাহ দিতে চাই। তার মোহর হবে আপনি আমাদের ছাগলগুলো আট বছর চরাবেন। আর আপনি যদি দশ বছর পূরণ করে নেন তাহলে তা হবে আপনার পক্ষ থেকে দয়া; তা বাধ্যতামূলক নয়। কারণ, চুক্তি হলো আট বছরের। সুতরাং তার বেশিটি হলো নিজ স্বেচ্ছাধীন। আমি আপনাকে কোন কষ্টের কাজে বাধ্য করতে চাই না। আল্লাহ চায়তো আপনি আমাকে অচিরেই নেককারদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত পাবেন। যারা চুক্তি পুরা করে এবং ওয়াদা ভঙ্গ করে না।
