আল-কাসাস: 47

And if not that a disaster should strike them for what their hands put forth [of sins] and they would say, "Our Lord, why did You not send us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses and been among the believers?"...

And if (We had) not (sent you to the people of Makkah) in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they should have said: "Our Lord! Why did You not send us a Messenger? We should then have followed Your Ayat (Verses of the Quran) and should have been among the believers."

And (We have sent you as a messenger) lest, in case they suffered a calamity because of what their hands sent ahead, they should say, “Our Lord, why did You not send a messenger to us, so that we might have followed your verses and been among the believers?”

(We did so) lest a calamity might seize them because of the misdeeds they committed whereafter they would say: "Our Lord, why did you not send a Messenger to us that we follow Your revelation and become among those who believe?"

Otherwise, if disaster should afflict them because of that which their own hands have sent before (them), they might say: Our Lord! Why sentest Thou no messenger unto us, that we might have followed Thy revelations and been of the believers?

If (We had) not (sent thee to the Quraish),- in case a calamity should seize them for (the deeds) that their hands have sent forth, they might say: "Our Lord! why didst Thou not sent us a messenger? We should then have followed Thy Signs and been amongst those who believe!"

রসূল না পাঠালে তাদের কৃতকর্মের কারণে কোন বিপদ হলে তারা বলত- ‘হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক! আমাদের কাছে রসূল পাঠালে না কেন, পাঠালে তোমার আয়াতসমূহের অনুসরণ করতাম আর আমরা মু’মিন হয়ে যেতাম।’

তাদের কৃতকর্মের কারণে তাদের উপর কোন বিপদ আসলে তারা যাতে বলতে না পারে, ‘হে আমাদের রব, আপনি আমাদের কাছে কোন রাসূল পাঠালেন না কেন? তাহলে আমরা আপনার আয়াতসমূহ অনুসরণ করতাম আর আমরা মুমিনদের অন্তর্ভুর্ক্ত হতাম’।

রাসূল না পাঠালে তাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্য তাদের কোন বিপদ হলে তারা বলতঃ হে আমাদের রাব্ব! আপনি আমাদের নিকট কোন রাসূল প্রেরণ করলেন না কেন? তাহলে আমরা আপনার নিদর্শন মেনে চলতাম এবং আমরা হতাম মু’মিন।

আর রাসূল না পাঠালে তাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্য তাদের উপর কোনো বিপদ হলে তারা বলত, ‘হে আমাদের রব! আপনি আমাদের কাছে কোনো রাসূল পাঠালেন না কেন? পাঠালে আমরা আপনার নিদর্শন মেনে চলতাম এবং আমরা মুমিনদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হতাম।’

রাসূল না পাঠালে তাদের কৃতকর্মের জন্য তাদের কোন বিপদ হলে তারা বলত, হে আমাদের প্রতিপালক আপনি আমাদের নিকট কোন রাসূল প্রেরণ করলেন না কেন? করলে আমরা আপনার বিধান মেনে চলতাম এবং আমরা হতাম মু’মিন।

৪৭. যদি এমন না হতো যে, কুফরি ও গুনাহের দরুন তাদের নিকট আল্লাহর শাস্তি এসে গেলে তারা নিজেদের নিকট কোন রাসূল না পাঠানোর ছুতো ধরে বলতো, আপনি কেন আমাদের নিকট রাসূল পাঠালেন না যাতে আমরা আপনার আয়াতসমূহের অনুসরণ ও সেগুলোর উপর আমল করতে পারতাম। যদি এমন না হতো তাহলে আমি তাদেরকে দ্রুত শাস্তি দিতাম। কিন্তু আমি তা দিতে দেরি করলাম। যাতে আমি তাদের নিকট রাসূল পাঠিয়ে তাদের ছুতো ধরার পথ বন্ধ করতে পারি।
