5 আল-মায়িদা Al-Ma'idah · 120 আয়াত المائدة
আরবি
كَانُوا۟ لَا يَتَنَاهَوْنَ عَن مُّنكَرٍ فَعَلُوهُ ۚ لَبِئْسَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ
English Translations
They used not to prevent one another from wrongdoing that they did. How wretched was that which they were doing.
They used not to forbid one another from the Munkar (wrong, evil-doing, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.) which they committed. Vile indeed was what they used to do.
They did not forbid each other from any evil they committed. Evil indeed is what they have been doing.
They did not forbid each other from committing the abominable deeds they committed. Indeed what they did was evil.
They restrained not one another from the wickedness they did. Verily evil was that they used to do!
Nor did they (usually) forbid one another the iniquities which they committed: evil indeed were the deeds which they did.
বাংলা অনুবাদ
তারা যে সব অসৎকর্ম করত তাত্থেকে একে অন্যকে নিষেধ করত না। তারা যা করত তা কতই না নিকৃষ্ট!
তারা পরস্পরকে মন্দ থেকে নিষেধ করত না, যা তারা করত। তারা যা করত, তা কতইনা মন্দ!
তারা যে অন্যায় কাজ করেছিল তা হতে একে অপরকে নিষেধ করতনা; বাস্তবিকই তাদের কাজ ছিল অত্যন্ত গর্হিত।
তারা যেসব গর্হিত কাজ করত তা হতে তারা একে অন্যকে বারণ করত না। তারা যা করত তা কতই না নিকৃষ্ট!

৭৯. তারা একে অপরকে গুনাহ থেকে বিরত রাখতো না। বরং তাদের পাপীরা প্রকাশ্যেই গুনাহ ও অসৎ কাজ করতো। কারণ, তাদেরকে বাধা দেয়ার কেউই ছিলো না। তাদের এ অসৎ কাজ থেকে বাধা না দেয়ার ব্যাপারটি কতোই না নিকৃষ্ট ছিলো।
