আল-মায়িদা: 81

And if they had believed in Allāh and the Prophet and in what was revealed to him, they would not have taken them as allies; but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

And had they believed in Allah, and in the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and in what has been revealed to him, never would they have taken them (the disbelievers) as Auliya' (protectors and helpers), but many of them are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

If they believed in Allah, in the prophet, and in what had been sent down to him, they would have not taken them (the pagans) for friends, but many of them are sinners.

For had they truly believed in Allah and the Messenger and what was sent down to him, they would not have taken unbelievers (instead of believers) for their allies. But many of them have rebelled against Allah altogether.

If they believed in Allah and the Prophet and that which is revealed unto him, they would not choose them for their friends. But many of them are of evil conduct.

If only they had believed in Allah, in the Prophet, and in what hath been revealed to him, never would they have taken them for friends and protectors, but most of them are rebellious wrong-doers.

তারা যদি আল্লাহর, নাবীর ও তার প্রতি যা নাযিল হয়েছে তার উপর ঈমান আনতো তবে তাদেরকে (অর্থাৎ কাফিরদেরকে) বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করত না, কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই ফাসিক।

আর যদি তারা আল্লাহ ও নবীর প্রতি এবং যা তার নিকট নাযিল করা হয়েছে তার প্রতি ঈমান রাখত, তবে তাদেরকে বন্ধু হিসেবে গ্রহণ করত না। কিন্তু তাদের মধ্যে অনেকে ফাসিক।

আর যদি তারা আল্লাহর প্রতি ঈমান আনতো এবং নাবীর প্রতি এবং ঐ কিতাবের (তাওরাতের) প্রতি যা তাঁর নাবীর নিকট প্রেরিত হয়েছিল, তাহলে তাদেরকে (মুশরিকদেরকে) কখনও বন্ধু রূপে গ্রহণ করতনা, কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশ লোকই ফাসিক।

আর তারা আল্লাহ ও নবীর প্রতি এবং তার প্রতি যা নাযিল হয়েছে তাতে ঈমান আনলে কাফেরদেরকে বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করত না, কিন্তু তাদের অনেকেই ফাসিক।

তারা (আহলে কিতাবরা) যদি আল্লাহ, নাবী ও তাঁর প্রতি যা অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে তাতে ঈমান আনত তবে তাদেরকে (কাফিরদের) বন্ধুরূপে গ্রহণ করত না, কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই ফাসিক।

৮১. যদি এ ইহুদিরা আল্লাহ ও তাঁর নবীর উপর সত্যিকারার্থে ঈমান আনতো তাহলে তারা মুশরিকদের কাউকে বন্ধু বানাতো না। মু’মিনদেরকে বাদ দিয়ে যাদেরকে তারা ভালোবাসবে ও তাদের প্রতি আকৃষ্ট হবে। কারণ, তাদেরকে কাফিরদের সাথে বন্ধুত্ব করতে নিষেধ করা হয়েছে। বস্তুতঃ এ ইহুদিদের অনেকেই আল্লাহর আনুগত্য এবং তিনি ও তাঁর মু’মিন বান্দাদের বন্ধুত্ব থেকে বাইরে অবস্থিত।
