আল-আম্বিয়া: 97

And [when] the true promise [i.e., the resurrection] has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], "O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers."

And the true promise (Day of Resurrection) shall draw near (of fulfillment). Then (when mankind is resurrected from their graves), you shall see the eyes of the disbelievers fixedly stare in horror. (They will say): "Woe to us! We were indeed heedless of this; nay, but we were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)."

and the True Promise draws near, then it will so happen that the eyes of the disbelievers shall remain upraised (in terror, and they will say,) “Alas to us! We were in negligence about this; rather we were transgressors.”

and the time for the fulfilment of the true promise of Allah draws near, whereupon the eyes of those who disbelieved will stare in fear, and they will say: "Woe to us, we were indeed heedless of this; nay, we were wrongdoers."

And the True Promise draweth nigh; then behold them, staring wide (in terror), the eyes of those who disbelieve! (They say): Alas for us! We (lived) in forgetfulness of this. Ah, but we were wrong-doers!

Then will the true promise draw nigh (of fulfilment): then behold! the eyes of the Unbelievers will fixedly stare in horror: "Ah! Woe to us! we were indeed heedless of this; nay, we truly did wrong!"

সত্য ওয়া‘দার (পূর্ণতার) সময় ঘনিয়ে আসবে, তখন আতঙ্কে কাফিরদের চক্ষু স্থির হয়ে যাবে। (তখন তারা বলবে) হায়! আমরা তো এ ব্যাপারে উদাসীন ছিলাম, না, আমরা ছিলাম অন্যায়কারী।

আর সত্য ওয়াদার সময় নিকটে আসলে হঠাৎ কাফিরদের চক্ষু স্থির হয়ে যাবে। তারা বলবে, ‘হায়, আমাদের দুর্ভোগ! আমরা তো এ বিষয়ে উদাসীন ছিলাম বরং আমরা ছিলাম যালিম’ ।

অমোঘ প্রতিশ্রুত কাল আসন্ন হলে অকস্মাৎ কাফিরদের চক্ষু স্থির হয়ে যাবে। তারা বলবেঃ হায় দুর্ভোগ আমাদের! আমরাতো ছিলাম এ বিষয়ে উদাসীন; না, বরং আমরা ছিলাম সীমালংঘনকারী।

আর অমোঘ প্রতিশ্রুত সময় নিকটবর্তী হবে, আকস্মাৎ কাফেরদের চক্ষু স্থির হয়ে যাবে, তারা বলবে, ‘হায়, দুর্ভোগ আমাদের! আমরা তো ছিলাম এ বিষয়ে উদাসীন; বরং আমরা তো ছিলাম যালেম।

যখন সত্য প্রতিশ্রুতির সময় ঘনিয়ে আসবে তখন অকস্মাৎ কাফিরদের চক্ষু স্থির হয়ে যাবে, তারা বলবে: ‘হায়, দুর্ভোগ আমাদের! আমরা তো ছিলাম এ বিষয়ে উদাসীন; বরং আমরা জালিম ছিলাম’

৯৭. তারা বেরিয়ে আসলেই কিয়ামত ঘনিয়ে আসবে এবং তার সকল ভয়ঙ্কর ও কঠিন অবস্থা প্রকাশ পাবে। তার ভয়াবহতা খুবই কঠিন হওয়ার দরুন কাফিরদের চোখগুলো খোলা ও স্থির অবস্থায় তারা বলবে: হায় আমাদের ধ্বংস! আমরা তো দুনিয়াতে এ মহান দিনের প্রস্তুতিতে ব্যস্ত না হয়ে খেল-তামাশায় মগ্ন ছিলাম। বরং আমরা কুফরি ও গুনাহে লিপ্ত হয়ে নিজেদের উপর যুলুম করেছি।
