Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved.

Nay, it (the Fire or the Day of Resurrection) will come upon them all of a sudden and will perplex them, and they will have no power to avert it, nor will they get respite.

Rather, it will come upon them suddenly and will baffle them. So they will not be able to turn it back, nor will they be given respite.

That will suddenly come upon them and stupefy them. They shall not be able to ward it off, nor shall they be granted any respite.

Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved.

Nay, it may come to them all of a sudden and confound them: no power will they have then to avert it, nor will they (then) get respite.

বরং তা তাদের উপর হঠাৎ এসে যাবে আর তা তাদেরকে হতবুদ্ধি করে দেবে। অতঃপর তারা তা রোধ করতে পারবে না, আর তাদেরকে অবকাশও দেয়া হবে না।

বরং অকস্মাৎ তাদের উপর তা এসে পড়বে। অতঃপর তাদেরকে হতবাক করে দেবে। ফলে তারা তা ফিরাতে সক্ষম হবে না এবং তাদেরকে অবকাশও দেয়া হবে না।

বস্তুতঃ ওটা তাদের উপর আসবে অতর্কিতে এবং তাদেরকে হতভম্ব করে দিবে; ফলে তারা ওটা রোধ করতে পারবেনা এবং তাদেরকে অবকাশ দেয়া হবেনা।

বরং তা তাদের উপর আসবে অতর্কিতভাবে এবং তাদেরকে হতভম্ব করে দেবে। ফলে তারা তা রধ করতে পারবে না এবং তাদেরকে অবকাশও দেয়া হবে না।

বস্তুত সেটা তাদের ওপর আসবে অতর্কিতভাবে এবং তাদেরকে হতভম্ব করে দিবে। ফলে তারা তা রোধ করতে পারবে না এবং তাদেরকে অবকাশও দেয়া হবে না।

৪০. যে আগুন দিয়ে তাদেরকে শাস্তি দেয়া হবে তা তাদেরকে জানিয়ে আসবে না। বরং তা আসবে হঠাৎ করে। ফলে তারা তা প্রতিরোধ করতে সক্ষম হবে না। আবার তাদেরকে তাওবার জন্য সময়ও দেয়া হবে না যে, তারা রহমতের ভাগী হবে।
