Here you are loving them but they are not loving you, while you believe in the Scripture - all of it. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe." But when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage. Say, "Die in your rage. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of that within the breasts."

Lo! You are the ones who love them but they love you not, and you believe in all the Scriptures [i.e. you believe in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), while they disbelieve in your Book, the Quran]. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe". But when they are alone, they bite the tips of their fingers at you in rage. Say: "Perish in your rage. Certainly, Allah knows what is in the breasts (all the secrets)."

Look, you are the ones who love them and they do not love you. You believe in all the books; (On the other hand,) when they meet you, they say, “We believe”, and when they are alone, they bite their finger-tips out of rage against you. Say, “May you perish in your rage.” Surely, Allah is All-Aware of what lies in the hearts.

Lo! It is you who love them but they do not love you even though you believe in the whole of the (heavenly) Book. When they meet you they say: 'We believe', but when they are by themselves they bite their fingers in rage at you. Say: 'Perish in your rage.' Allah knows even what lies hidden in their breasts.

Lo! ye are those who love them though they love you not, and ye believe in all the Scripture. When they fall in with you they say: We believe; but when they go apart they bite their finger-tips at you, for rage. Say: Perish in your rage! Lo! Allah is Aware of what is hidden in (your) breasts.

Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in your rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart."

অবশ্য তোমরাই সেই লোক যে, তোমরা তাদেরকে মহববত কর, কিন্তু তারা তোমাদের সাথে মহববত রাখে না, উপরন্তু তোমরা সকল কিতাবের প্রতিও বিশ্বাস রাখ এবং যখন তারা তোমাদের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করে তখন বলে যে, ‘আমরাও ঈমান এনেছি’ এবং যখন তারা একান্তে মিলিত হয় তখন তোমাদের প্রতি গোস্বায় নিজেদের আঙ্গুলের মাথা কামড়াতে থাকে। তাদেরকে বল, ‘তোমরা নিজেদের গোস্বায় মরতে থাক’। বস্তুতঃ অন্তরে যা আছে আল্লাহ তা খুব ভালভাবেই জানেন।

শোন, তোমরাই তো তাদেরকে ভালবাস এবং তারা তোমাদেরকে ভালবাসে না। অথচ তোমরা সব কিতাবের প্রতি ঈমান রাখ। আর যখন তারা তোমাদের সাথে সাক্ষাৎ করে, তখন বলে, ‘আমরা ঈমান এনেছি’। আর যখন তারা একান্তে মিলিত হয়, তোমাদের উপর রাগে আঙ্গুল কামড়ায়। বল, ‘তোমরা তোমাদের রাগ নিয়ে মর’! নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ অন্তরের গোপন বিষয় সম্পর্কে পূর্ণ জ্ঞাত।

সাবধান হও - তোমরাই তাদেরকে ভালবাস, অথচ তারা তোমাদেরকে ভালবাসেনা; এবং তোমরা সমস্ত গ্রন্থই বিশ্বাস কর; আর তারা যখন তোমাদের সাথে মিলিত হয় তখন বলেঃ আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি এবং যখন তোমাদের হতে পৃথক হয়ে যায় তখন তোমাদের প্রতি আক্রোশে আঙ্গুলের অগ্রভাগসমূহ দংশন করে। তুমি বলঃ তোমরা নিজেদের আক্রোশে মরে যাও! নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ অন্তরের কথা জ্ঞাত আছেন।

দেখ, তোমরাই তাদেরকে ভালোবাস কিন্তু তারা তোমাদেরকে ভালোবাসে না অথচ তোমরা সব কিতাবে ঈমান রাখ। আর তারা যখন তোমাদের সংস্পর্শে আসে তখন বলে, ‘আমরা ঈমান এনেছি; কিন্তু তারা যখন একান্তে মিলিত হয় তখন তোমাদের প্রতি আক্রোশে তারা নিজেদের আঙ্গুলের অগ্রভাগ দাঁত দিয়ে কাটতে থাকে।’ বলুন, ‘তোমাদের আক্রোশেই তোমরা মর।’ নিশ্চয় অন্তরে যা রয়েছে সে সম্পর্কে আল্লাহ সবিশেষ অবগত।

তোমরা তো ঐ সব লোক যারা তাদেরকে ভালবাস কিন্তু তারা তোমাদেরকে ভালবাসে না। অথচ তোমরা যাবতীয় কিতাবের ওপর ঈমান রাখ। আর তারা যখন তোমাদের সাথে মিলিত হয় তারা বলে, আমরা তো ঈমান এনেছি। আর যখন তারা আলাদা হয়ে যায় তখন তোমাদের ওপর রাগের কারণে তারা আঙ্গুলের অগ্রভাগ কামড়াতে থাকে। তুমি বল:‎ তোমরা তোমাদের ক্রোধে মৃত্যুকে আলিঙ্গন কর। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ অন্তরের বিষয় ভালভাবে জানেন।

১১৯. হে মু’মিনরা! তোমরা কি ওদেরকে ভালোবাসছো আর তাদের কল্যাণ কামনা করছো; অথচ তারা তোমাদেরকে ভালোবাসে না এবং তোমাদের কল্যাণ কামনা করে না। বরং তারা তোমাদেরকে তাদের শত্রু মনে করে। তোমরা সকল কিতাবকে বিশ্বাস করো। তাতে তাদের কিতাবও রয়েছে। অথচ তারা তোমাদের নবীর উপর আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে নাযিলকৃত কিতাবকে বিশ্বাস করে না। তারা তোমাদের সাথে সাক্ষাৎ করে মুখে বলে: আমরা তোমাদের কিতাবকে বিশ্বাস করি। তবে তারা একে অপরের সাথে একাকীভাবে মিলিত হলে তোমাদের ঐক্য ও পারস্পরিক মিল আর ইসলামের শক্তি ও বিজয় এবং তাদের লাঞ্ছনা দেখে চিন্তা ও রাগে নিজেদের আঙ্গুলের মাথাগুলো কামড়াতে থাকে। হে নবী! আপনি তাদেরকে বলে দিন: তোমরা নিজেদের অবস্থায় এভাবেই থাকো যতক্ষণ না তোমরা চিন্তা ও রাগে মারা যাবে। নিশ্চয়ই আল্লাহ তা‘আলা তোমাদের অন্তরের ঈমান ও কুফরি এবং কল্যাণ ও অকল্যাণ সম্পর্কে সম্যক অবগত।
