আলে ইমরান: 140

If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allāh may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allāh does not like the wrongdoers -

If a wound (and killing) has touched you, be sure a similar wound (and killing) has touched the others. And so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns, that Allah may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you. And Allah likes not the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers).

If you have received a wound, they have received a similar wound. Such days We rotate among the people, so that Allah may know those who believe and let some of you be martyrs - and Allah does not like the unjust

If a wound has befallen you a similar wound has already befallen the people who are opposed to you. We make such movements to men in turn so that Allah might mark out those who are the true men of faith and select from among you those who do really bear witness (to the Truth): for Allah does not love the wrong-doers,

If ye have received a blow, the (disbelieving) people have received a blow the like thereof. These are (only) the vicissitudes which We cause to follow one another for mankind, to the end that Allah may know those who believe and may choose witnesses from among you; and Allah loveth not wrong-doers.

If a wound hath touched you, be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) We give to men and men by turns: that Allah may know those that believe, and that He may take to Himself from your ranks Martyr-witnesses (to Truth). And Allah loveth not those that do wrong.

যদি তোমাদেরকে আঘাত স্পর্শ করে, অনুরূপ আঘাত তো অপর পক্ষকেও স্পর্শ করেছিল। (জয়-পরাজয়ের) এ দিনগুলোকে আমি মানুষের মধ্যে আবর্তিত করে থাকি যাতে আল্লাহ মু’মিনদেরকে চিনে নিতে পারেন এবং তোমাদের মধ্যে কাউকে কাউকে শহীদ হিসেবে গ্রহণ করতে পারেন, বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ যালিমদেরকে ভালবাসেন না।

যদি তোমাদেরকে কোন আঘাত স্পর্শ করে থাকে তবে তার অনুরূপ আঘাত উক্ত কওমকেও স্পর্শ করেছে। আর এইসব দিন আমি মানুষের মধ্যে পালাক্রমে আবর্তন করি এবং যাতে আল্লাহ ঈমানদারদেরকে জেনে নেন এবং তোমাদের মধ্য থেকে শহীদদেরকে গ্রহণ করেন। আর আল্লাহ যালিমদেরকে ভালবাসেন না।

যদি তোমাদের আঘাত লেগে থাকে তাহলে নিশ্চয়ই সেই সম্প্রদায়েরও তদ্রুপ আঘাত লেগেছে, এবং এই দিনসমূহকে আমি মানবগণের মধ্যে পরিক্রমণ করাই; এবং যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছে তাদেরকে আল্লাহ এই রূপে প্রকাশ করেন; এবং তোমাদের মধ্য হতে কতককে শহীদ রূপে গ্রহণ করবেন, আর আল্লাহ অত্যাচারীদেরকে ভালবাসেননা।

যদি তোমাদের আঘাত লেগে থাকে, অনুরূপ আঘাত তো তাদেরও লেগেছে। মানুষের মধ্যে পর্যায়ক্রমে আমরা এ দিনগুলোর আবর্তন ঘটাই, যাতে আল্লাহ মুমিনগণকে জানতে পারেন এবং তোমাদের মধ্য থেকে কিছু সংখ্যককে শহীদরূপে গ্রহণ করতে পারেন। আর আল্লাহ যালেমদেরকে পছন্দ করেন না।

যদি তোমাদের আঘাত লেগে থাকে, তবে নিশ্চয়ই সেই সম্প্রদায়েরও তদ্রƒপ আঘাত লেগেছে এবং এ (জয়-পরাজয়ের) দিবসসমূহকে আমি মানুষের মধ্যে আবর্তন করাই; এবং যেন আল্লাহ জেনে নিতে পারেন যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছ তাদেরকে (তাদের ঈমান সম্পর্কে) এবং তোমাদের মধ্য হতে কতলোকে শহীদরূপে গ্রহণ করতে পারেন। আর আল্লাহ অত্যাচারীদেরকে ভালবাসেন না।

১৪০. হে মু’মিনরা! উহুদের দিন যদি তোমরা আহত ও নিহত হয়ে থাকো তাহলে কাফিররাও তো ইতিপূর্বে তোমাদের ন্যায় আহত ও নিহত হয়েছে। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ তা‘আলা তাঁর কিছু বিশেষ হিকমতের দরুন মু’মিন ও কাফিরদের মাঝে জয়-পরাজয়ের ধারা চালু রেখেছেন। তম্মধ্যে মু’মিনরা যেন মুনাফিদের থেকে বাস্তবেই ভিন্নরূপে প্রকাশ পায়। আর তিনি যাকে চান তাকে তাঁর পথে শাহাদাতের সম্মান দেন। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ তা‘আলা তাঁর পথে জিহাদ পরিত্যাগ করে নিজেদের উপর যুলুমকারীদেরকে ভালোবাসেন না।
