2 আল-বাকারা Al-Baqarah · 286 আয়াত البقرة
আরবি
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَوٰةٍ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ ۚ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحْزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ
English Translations
And you will surely find them the most greedy of people for life - [even] more than those who associate others with Allāh. One of them wishes that he could be granted life a thousand years, but it would not remove him in the least from the [coming] punishment that he should be granted life. And Allāh is Seeing of what they do.
And verily, you will find them (the Jews) the greediest of mankind for life and (even greedier) than those who - ascribe partners to Allah (and do not believe in Resurrection - Magians, pagans, and idolaters, etc.). Everyone of them wishes that he could be given a life of a thousand years. But the grant of such life will not save him even a little from (due) punishment. And Allah is All-Seer of what they do.
You shall surely find them the more avid, for life than all other men - even more than the polytheists. Every one of them would love that his life is prolonged for one thousand years. But it will not take him away from punishment that his life is (so) prolonged, and Allah is watchful of what they do.
You will certainly find them most eager to cling on to life, indeed even more eager than those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. Each one of them wishes to live a thousand years although the bestowal of long life cannot remove him from chastisement. Allah sees whatever they do.
And thou wilt find them greediest of mankind for life and (greedier) than the idolaters. (Each) one of them would like to be allowed to live a thousand years. And to live (a thousand years) would by no means remove him from the doom. Allah is Seer of what they do.
Thou wilt indeed find them, of all people, most greedy of life,-even more than the idolaters: Each one of them wishes He could be given a life of a thousand years: But the grant of such life will not save him from (due) punishment. For Allah sees well all that they do.
বাংলা অনুবাদ
অবশ্যই তুমি তাদেরকে বেঁচে থাকার ব্যাপারে সকল মানুষ এমনকি মুশরিক অপেক্ষাও অধিক লোভী দেখতে পাবে, তাদের প্রত্যেকেই আকাঙ্ক্ষা করে যদি হাজার বছর আয়ু দেয়া হত, কিন্তু দীর্ঘায়ু তাদেরকে শাস্তি হতে রেহাই দিতে পারবে না, তারা যা করে, আল্লাহ তার দ্রষ্টা।
আর তুমি তাদেরকে পাবে জীবনের প্রতি সর্বাধিক লোভী মানুষরূপে। এমনকি তাদের থেকেও যারা শিরক করেছে। তাদের একজন কামনা করে, যদি হাজার বছর তাকে জীবন দেয়া হত! অথচ দীর্ঘজীবী হলেই তা তাকে আযাব থেকে নিষ্কৃতি দিতে পারবে না। আর তারা যা করে আল্লাহ সে সম্পর্কে সম্যক দ্রষ্টা।
এবং নিশ্চয়ই তুমি তাদেরকে অন্যান্য লোক এবং অংশীবাদীদের অপেক্ষাও অধিকতর আয়ু-আকাংক্ষী পাবে; তাদের মধ্যে প্রত্যেকে কামনা করে যেন তাকে হাজার বছর আয়ু দেয়া হয়, এবং ঐরূপ আয়ু প্রাপ্তিও তাদেরকে শাস্তি হতে মুক্ত করতে পারবেনা এবং তারা যা করছে আল্লাহ তার পরিদর্শক।
আর আপনি অবশ্যই তাদেরকে জীবনের প্রতি অন্যসব লোকের চেয়ে বেশী লোভী দেখতে পাবেন, এমনকি মুশরিকদের চাইতেও। তাদের প্রত্যেকে আশা করে যদি হাজার বছর আয়ু দেয়া হত; অথচ দীর্ঘায়ু তাকে শাস্তি হতে নিস্কৃতি দিতে পারবে না। তারা যা করে আল্লাহ্ তার সম্যক দ্রষ্টা।
এবং নিশ্চয়ই তুমি তাদেরকে অন্যান্য লোক এবং অংশীবাদীদের অপেক্ষাও অধিকতর আয়ু আকাক্সক্ষী পাবে; তাদের মধ্যে প্রত্যেকে কামনা করে সে যেন হাজার বছর আয়ু প্রাপ্ত হয় এবং দীর্ঘায়ুও তাকে শাস্তি হতে মুক্ত করতে পারবে না এবং তারা যা করছে আল্লাহ তার মহা পরিদর্শক।
৯৬. হে নবী! আপনি অবশ্যই ইহুদিদেরকে দুনিয়ার ব্যাপারে অতি কঠিন লোভী হিসেবেই পাবেন। সেটা যত লাঞ্ছনাকর বা তুচ্ছই হোক না কেন। বরং তারা মুশরিকদের চেয়েও বেশি লোভী। যারা পুনরুত্থান ও প্রতিদান দিবসে বিশ্বাসী নয়। অথচ এরা কিতাবধারী। এমনকি তারা পুনরুত্থান এবং প্রতিদান দিবসেও বিশ্বাসী। বস্তুতঃ তাদের কেউ কেউ হাজার বছর বাঁচতে চায়। অথচ তার জানা নেই যে, তার বয়স যতই বাড়–ক না কেন তা কিন্তু আল্লাহর শাস্তি থেকে তাকে একটুও দূরে সরাতে পারবে না। বরং আল্লাহ তা‘আলা তাদের কর্মকাণ্ড সবই জানেন ও দেখছেন। তাঁর নিকট কোন কিছুই লুকায়িত নয়। অচিরেই তিনি তাদেরকে সেগুলোর প্রতিদান দিবেন।
